New Mousepad – Urabe Mikoto
Posted by Tallon in Anime (General) on September 9, 2010
Wanted something with my drooly-waifu Urabe on it, couldn’t find anything, and decided it was time for a new mousepad a couple weeks ago so went with this – and it finally showed up!

Here is a nicer quality image of it as the above has washed out colors and is bad overall – as i had to film it, take a screenshot of a low quality version of the video, and then use that for the image. Why? Because I was too lazy to get the real camera again
My old one was a gurren lagann one and it’s still pretty nice so I’ll keep it around in storage somewhere, but this is perfect so I don’t plan on replacing it for a long time. Oh and the mouse cord is going the wrong way due to just building a whole new rig recently and it not being where it belongs – it’s not under the desk so the mouse wont reach if I put the wire back there.
Speaking of Ga Rei Zero

It just got licensed.
Funimation has confirmed that it licensed the home entertainment, digital, merchandise, and mobile rights for this 12-episode anime series from Kadokawa. Funimation will release the complete series on DVD in early 2011.
awww yeahhhh
Though, another show like Railgun where I refuse to give the dub a chance.
As for the show itself, funnily enough Funi is streaming the first 2 episodes – the two I said anyone who hasn’t seen this should watch no matter what. So do it now if you still haven’t, no reason not to.
Ga Rei Zero – Full Review

Before I start with the review, let’s just get this out of the way. This show has probably THE BEST first episode in any anime or tv show or anything else. I’ll get to how I feel about the show as a whole, but just speaking about the first episode alone – it was amazingly well done and directed and the most awesome first episode of anything that I know of. This alone is worth watching the show for – or at least watching the first episode for. Though be warned, don’t go searching stuff about this show or you might ruin the awesome of this episode. Just go watch it if you haven’t.
Since finishing Kyouran Kazoku Nikki which I thought was completely excellent I’ve continued a good stride of apparently watching every awesome show I hadn’t watched in the past because I either never heard of it or thought it would be extremely mediocre at best. I had no intention of watching great shows, actually all these shows I’ve gone into expecting them to be shit. But surprisingly, only the opposite has happened;
Something strange about Funimations ADR director

I don’t need to say anything, just look at the images. Though I do need to say one thing which I somehow almost forgot, I’m talking about Brina Palencia.
Red is roles in shows she worked on, blue is ones the brother worked on, and BOLD is lead characters according to what ANN decided are leads and not leads. And anything both of them worked on will have half blue and half red or half red and half blue, either way. Blue wasn’t the best choice of color but too bad, deal with it.
But before that, here’s a list of everything she and her brother have worked on – they are both high ups in ADR which means they pretty much get to make the dubbing decisions. It’s pretty amazing how obvious she is about just abusing her and her brothers position to get lead roles, even worse if you include her less than main ones.
As A Most Wonderful Fact, This Review Is Of Kyouran Kazoku Nikki

Or “As a most wonderful fact, I, Tallon, have written a review of Kyouran Kazoku Nikki” but that’s way too long for a title.
So following up with the horrible disappointment that was Durarara, I finished up Kyouran Kazoku Nikki and got the exact opposite. Now I’m, as usual, behind on reviewing this, and in this case I had actually never seen this – when it first came out I meant to watch but I kept forgetting the name and never got around to it because of that. So finally I just got a full torrent and have been watching a few episodes every day and finally just marathoned the last 5 today.
I wasn’t sure what to expect other than a fun silly type show that I always for some reason figured would be pretty good, and it definitely was those things. But ‘pretty good’ doesn’t really do it justice as it was probably one of the better shows I’ve ever seen – and I’ve seen a lot so at least for me that says a lot.
Durarara Final – DURRRRR-arara

A complete disappointment. And before I go further – I know this only covers around up to volume 3 of the novels and the story is nowhere near complete at this point, but I’m talking about this as an anime series so keep those thoughts up your ass where they belong. And on that note – it’s no excuse for a shitty ending, Baccano didn’t cover the full story at all either and yet it had a great and satisfying ending and amazing series, so yeah.
Masaomi singing Linda Linda (which is probably my favorite Blue Hearts song) in his character CD makes up for this though, so all is forgiven. I hope a season 2 will be made soon – as much as I’m about to bitch, I did enjoy this show, I’m just upset this is how they made the last episode, that’s all. And keep in mind – just before watching this episode I spoiled myself with a few KKN episodes and the newest episode of OoFuri 2 which was amazingly good, so I’m a bit more picky at the moment.
Something for you to listen to while you read my ranting that you’ll probably disagree with.
This is really the only way to explain it – Durarara throughout was a pretty good show, nothing AMAZING, nothing special, but a good watch especially with what else has been coming out lately (complete fucking garbage other than OoFuri 2). But this last episode completely destroyed even that ‘pretty good’, it was awful and one of the biggest disappointments I’ve had in awhile in regards to anime. I wasn’t expecting much but damn they didn’t even deliver something mediocre as an ending, they delivered complete garbage.
Let’s review the episode – nothing happens, more nothing happens, and then nothing happens.
Catching Up Again

So, as the next couple of seasons of anime have literally NOTHING (with like 2 exceptions until winter which, i dont know whats showing winter so ‘until winter’ at this point) I’m going to be watching I figure I’ll try and post other stuff more.
So I’m still only watching Durarara!! and Ookiku Furikabutte season 2. Both of which are still doing alright and luckily aren’t becoming shit.
